The smell is light and not over powerful. The odor eliminating works well especially if you have pets. The lid of the candle can be used to put out the candle so you don't smell the burning smelling once you blow it out.

It's definitely an odor eliminating candle, it's got a very strong scent and throw. The only thing I don't like about it is it smells kind of manly. I know a lot of people like that but to me it's just a tad too much not bad... I just wouldn't want it again. For those of you that actually read the reviews I burn this in the room with the litter boxes and you don't smell a thing but the candle.
